Dallas-Fort Worth Schools Save Millions Thanks To Schoolfundr’s Fee-Free Fundraising Platform
The Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) metro area, home to over eight million residents, stands as the fourth-largest and one of the fastest-growing regions in the U.S. With this growth comes a rapidly expanding student population, currently around 1.2 million K-12 students, driving the need for more facilities and extracurricular programs. However, as school budgets continue to be stretched thin, the demand for effective and affordable fundraising solutions has reached new heights. Historically DFW schools have raised millions of dollars to support their students' extracurricular activities, but most digital platforms take 20-30% of the total funds raised in fees, taking millions of dollars out of school communities in the area.
In response to this growing need for digital fundraising tools, and the excessive fees charged by many companies, Schoolfundr has stepped in to support students across DFW. By letting schools keep everything they raise and only passing along standard payment processing fees (around 3% via Stripe), Schoolfundr ensures that students and schools keep the funds they raise. From Granbury to Plano, and many districts in between, schools throughout the region are embracing Schoolfundr’s seamless, student-centered approach to fundraising.
“The biggest challenge with traditional fundraising has always been the high fees, often 20% or more, that went to the fundraising companies,” said Granbury ISD Athletic Director Lamont Moore. “Now, with Schoolfundr, our students can raise more than ever before and keep every dollar they raise, aside from standard credit card fees.”
Schoolfundr has supported thousands of students across the Dallas-Fort Worth area with its feature-rich platform, offering personalized participant pages that can be shared with a single click via email, text, and social media. Additionally, each fundraiser is paired with a dedicated fundraising expert at no cost, providing guidance throughout the entire fundraising process.
Schools across DFW have also embraced Schoolfundr+, a premium offering that provides additional tools and insights to further streamline fundraising efforts.
Plano ISD District Athletic Director Lonnie Jordan shared: “In my 30+ years as a coach and athletic administrator, I’ve never encountered a fundraising platform as powerful as Schoolfundr—it’s truly a game changer. Our community was thrilled to learn they no longer have to pay a mandatory fee on every donation in the form of fundraising cuts. The 15+ programs in our district that have used Schoolfundr have been extremely satisfied.”
Regarding Schoolfundr+, Jordan added: “As an athletic director, I’m not directly involved in fundraising, but Schoolfundr+ allows my department and me to stay ‘eyes on but hands off.’ I now have full visibility into every fundraiser, donor, and payout in the district, giving me the oversight and peace of mind I need.”
School Districts and schools throughout the DFW metroplex have joined the Schoolfundr+ program and named Schoolfundr their official fundraising partner. Plano ISD, Highland Park ISD, Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, Lancaster ISD, Midlothian ISD, Mercy Culture Preparatory, and Granbury ISD have all joined the Schoolfundr platform to raise more and keep what they raise
With millions of dollars raised and hundreds of thousands in fundraising fees saved across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Schoolfundr is transforming DFW school communities, one fundraiser at a time.
